As part of our every little bit helps initiative, 3BP is proud to support Meals on Wheels.

Every weekday, Meals on Wheels and their volunteers provide more than 400 meals and friendly visits to home-bound people in Vancouver and Richmond. Each year volunteers contribute over 37,500 hours of their time to the cause, equivalent to more than 20 full-time jobs.

Due to COVID-19 and the threat to high-risk individuals, Meals on Wheels has had to adapt. Many of the volunteers had to step back from their roles, as they themselves were high-risk, causing the temporary suspension of some of their deliveries as new volunteers were recruited and trained. On top of that, Meals on Wheels has had to cancel several of their fundraising events which they heavily rely on. In order to keep the service affordable for its customers, Meals on Wheels uses donations to subsidize the cost of each meal. Without the events to drive donations, they are concerned about what that might mean for their customers.
